Hahn's Peak, Colorado 2001
HAHN'S PEAK
Something happened on this mountain -
violent and prehistoric.

It was volcanic, says the fountain
of crystal under my hammer, and epic

In spans of earth time and moulten masses
cooling among the stars.  What remains

is me saying, "nothing passes
entirely. Crystals and old refrains

are shaped like mountain peaks and free
from time.  Nothing passes entirely."
